Sure, I'd love to see an artical on that. I guess the stuff I have in mind
is simulating light-beams such as where it appears there is a strong back
light behind an object and the object causes shadows to be cut in the light
(an example would be the "new-line cinema" logo animation you see
some-times.). Other than that, a good flash-light or search beam would be
